To carry the title of Wonder Woman was an honor, a privilege, and a curse. Diana often felt herself nearly suffocated by the need to obtain such a grace, even in times where she wished she could allow herself to fall apart. She makes mistakes. One of them was overstepping Damian’s boundaries and allowing her instincts to get the better of her. He had been trained to be a weapon by the one person in his life he was meant to trust completely and wholeheartedly. He took the loss of his childhood and turned it into heroism, and Diana couldn’t even begin to form words about how proud of him she was. Her involvement with Bruce allowed the Amazon a firsthand look into the lives of the bats, and though Diana has seen many amazing things in her nearly five thousand years of life, they could easily top her list. She regretted urging Damian to stand down from a battle all because of her fear of him getting hurt. He earned his spot on that battlefield the same as anyone else and she was wrong to try and take that away from him. Her expression falls, the words that left the younger male causing Diana’s heart to sink in her chest. “No you didn’t, Damian.” Her words are stern. “You didn’t ruin anything.” Her arm is resting atop his shoulders, pulling him into a brief embrace.
