Rajasthan apart from being a vibrant and colourful is popular for its folkore dance and music passed down from generations. The singers and dancers have so much zeal and passion. Their voices can be heard echoing through the desert. They sing of battles won, fairytales or be it myths or just of daily living and survival. I am still at awe of the vocals. Harmonious, yet soulful and enchanting. There is chivalry and valour. I never thought I would like such tunes. You have to hear it to believe it. I was captivated from the first vocal cord. This couple can be heard singing every night at the Alsisar Mahal. The architecture and engineering of the pillars from the palace allow their vocals to flow through the walls, no matter which courtyard you are in. If I could describe these tunes in one word from the modern urban dictionary. I have to go with #SICK It is a dying art and a pity but there are good samaritans who wish to revive and ensure these tunes are never lost.
