*slam dunks into inbox* if you're still in the mood for Ace prompts, tbh the first thing I thought of was ... Ace meeting bby Dionysus from my Blood of My Blood verse? (picturing Nyx finding wayward bby and bringing him home 'cause bby has attached to his leg like a limpet because he feels like Ace's magic and Magic Is Safe or smth).
“Nyx, love of my life, the heart outside of my chest, why is there a child with you?” Nyx smiles crookedly, shifting the child in his arms around to hold him more comfortably.
“Well,” Nyx says and Ace raises an eyebrow at him, “He wouldn’t leave me alone?”
“Did you try to find his parents?”
“Da’ not here,” The child says proudly before squirming in Nyx’s grip and reaching out for Ace who seamlessly puts down the glass he was cleaning and catches the kid who then proceeds to snuggle into Ace’s arms like he’s safe there.
Ace sighs, because why is this his life, before freezing when he realizes that the kid in his arms is wrapping him in magic that is full of ‘love love love family uncle family uncle-’ and Ace almost chokes on nothing.
“Nyx,” Ace says when Nyx looks at him curiously, “Where did you get a magic baby?” Even as Ace says that he uses his own magic to project love and safety toward the kid in his arms that makes a happy sound and then somehow manages to snuggle even more into Ace’s arms.
Nyx looks at Ace with a horrified realization.
“No,” Nyx says.
“Yes,” Ace says.
Nyx looks like he was to say something unkind and somewhat vulgar but he doesn’t because of the kid currently in Ace’s arms.
