it's not as strong as their connection with julie, but bobby was still a big part of their life and because of that they can still do things like touch him, and be heard by him, even if he can't see them anymore

idk this was just a thought i had while rewatching the scene, and it would be really cool if they explored this in the second season (especially if we learn somebody else could see the boys or willie because they're connected to him somehow (yes this is me trying to figure out a way to get a flynn/willie friendship))
