Cadmus sounds a bit like Hikosa in the final battle, loving how much stronger Hakari has gotten.
While I've never heard of the character, that's very much in line with Cadmus' entire thing with Hakari. The undercurrent of the character is he really doesn't have much of anything to live for except Seven's mission. But Hakari brings a spark of life to his bleak life. He sees so much of his younger self in Hakari and the nihilist in him wants to see just how far he can push this poor boy before he finally falls over the edge. Especially since Cadmus is one of the most vicious fighters of the whole series who manages to outmaneuver and defeat quite a few different foes, including Hakari on multiple occasions.
So to have Hakari truly go at him with everything he's got is probably the most alive Cadmus has ever felt, and he's gonna keep hitting that raw nerve again and again.
Also, for those who saw the much bloodier "spoiler-y" look to Cadmus, that is 100% the moment this part to my lil headcanon "boss theme" would play in their final fight:

I've been working on the "skeletons" for the full series before resuming writing chapters to keep myself from writing into a corner. And I literally wrote the entire final fight to that tune right there.
Seriously, Mick Gordon has no business being as phenomenally talented a composer as he is. Like how goddamn dare he. 'XD
