While I think its very neat and makes a lot of sense that as your humanity decreases, you fall asleep for the day earlier and get up later (sunlight/daytime has a stronger effect on you)... but I also really like the idea that newer vampires sleep longer because they, like actual babies/toddlers, need more sleep and, in an evolutionary sense, protect them. If you wake up/stay up too close to daylight, you’ll get seriously hurt or die. But if new vampires are forced to find a place to sleep sooner, this is less likely to happen. As they get older, more powerful, and have a more complete understanding of their condition, they can stay up longer and get up earlier- they are more careful about going out and are less at risk for being injured by the last few rays of the evening/first few of the morning.
