#gay writer philip meeks come back#always doing something#also grayson .#shut up#graydale#he focuses a lot on his separation from the materially gay world#uses not fitting into it as an excuse to remain outside of known gayness entirely#homophobia to mask homophobia#slash to mask just genuine fear of the world’s homophobia#wants what’s assured etc#but hides that fear behind belief that he’s just incompatible#in part also ofc about the things being straight gives him#but paul there to prove he can have that anyway#but also not entirely i love the genuinely strong debate#neither completely right both digging heels in too much both in denial about selective aspects#meaning neither can see the root of their issues bc they see the flaws in the opposing argument#and i think they do also recognise the flaws in their own#but they’re used to it#can live with it#aren’t given a good enough reason to try anything else#grass isn’t green enough#and there are mines
