favorite track on evermore?

that’s a super tricky question, because?? i have like three or four favorites, but i guess i’m gonna define ‘favorite’ as like. the songs that i’ve put on repeat the most, so for me, that’s probably tolerate it and right where you left me because i think they’re both just so incredibly emotional + hard-hitting lyric-wise

(actually...almost all of the songs on evermore are incredibly visual, which i love, but like. tolerate it and right where you left me leaves the strongest images. there’s something so incredibly sad and powerful about thinking of someone quietly watching someone read/breathe and setting the table and waiting by the door for someone who doesn’t love back...and there’s also something so incredibly sad and powerful about thinking of someone sitting in a restaurant with tears running down their face/dropping a glass on a table because the person sitting across from them said “so i’ve met someone”.)

(but i mean. i know you just asked me for one favorite track, but i also have to shout out to champagne problems because hello. failed proposal. also such strong images of like. dropping someone’s hand while dancing, leaving someone on the landing...standing around a group of family and friends and seeing their stunned faces. hearing the mutters of family friends + hometown skeptics. walking past your college dorm building and looking into the hallways and knowing that that used to be our place.)
