I was only into rafayel originally and from most liked to least the Lis were arranged as follows: rafayel, blank, blank, xavier, blank, caleb, zayne, sylus,

the ones at the end aren't for any personal reasons i think i hadn't really read into them yet so i felt more detached

i was very!! into rafayel and couldn't understand the appeal of zayne BUT ONCE I PROGRESSED RHE MAIN STORY I COULDN't STOP THINKING ABOUT AMYONE BUT ZAYNE . i was like damn i guess we r rafayel/zayne, then caleb/xavier/sylus now.

i think what happened was zayne's slow integration to mcs lives became more prominent and the way he cared so much but always held himself back was so human. my favourite card of his is the four-star one where he opens up to you about losing a patient while you guys are on a ferris wheel. the vulnerability and passion for his work really spoke to me? like if i could, id want a partner just like him. maybe less fearfully avoidant or more open to grow from it because it gets difficult on the person who is avoidant themselves and i wouldnt want him to suffer more than he does

rafayel's character has similar depth but through millenias of loss. i love his duality in particular and how, despite being comfortable in linkon now, he never forgets his lemurian roots and avenges accordingly. i would say his species was gen*cided. to live among the very type of people that brought the end of his own is something inexpressible in words. he is an artist, and even though he is so bubbly and clingy with us he is generally very guarded (according to the anecdotes and all apparently) and not too social. he's probably anxiously attached and for good reason. I have a similar attachment style so rafayel is a source of comfort in the sense that i get it and i know i'd reciprocate his exaggerations.

it makes me feel special that only Mc gets to see this side of his. same with zayne, but zayne's character is generally more consistent. also rafayel is musically inclined and i too enjoy it as a hobby 😓 I think he would be a bestfriend sort of partner (ideal) and zayne would be an anchor sort of partner (also ideal)
