There needs to be an antonym for Flanderization;

instead of exaggerating and emphasizing a character's prominent features to the point of caricature--

sanding down edges and distinct features (be it physical or personality) to the point of blandness and generic (usually for the sake of wider marketability)

both processes leave the character unrecognizable to who they once were, but in opposite directions
