If for whatever reason you want to see posts that are actually mine amidst the 3400+ and counting reblogs, here are a couple tags:
#Bruce talks about: my headcanons, ramblings and thoughts on things I like or reactions to other posts I’ve seen
#Fanfic: overlaps with some reblogs, but should let you find any post that doesn’t fit under the above tag
#WHEEZING: not mine but the shit that made me laugh. REALLY laugh, none of that ‘nostril-whistle’ junk
#Queue: 99% fanart of things I like
And if you’d rather not do that searching (and who could blame you, Tumblr’s search recently got worse), below the cut are the posts of mine that matter, or failing that give a sense of what I’m about:
First and foremost, if you came here for coherently written fanfic rather than my rambling headcanons interspersed with random reblogs, the easiest place to find those is on my other blog, chuklebruski. Just finished reblogging every titled fic I’ve done since joining this site onto that blog for the sake of streamlining.
Otherwise. . .
(Dis)Closure : (Ao3 Link)
Preservation: (Ao3 Link) Would’ve posted it on here too, but the fic includes formatting Tumblr doesn’t support.
Phoenix : (Ao3 Link)
Scrap (Chapter 1) : (Ao3 Link) This chapter and Phoenix happen at the same time.
Scrap (Chapter 2) : (Ao3 Link)
Expiration : (Ao3 Link)
The First: (Ao3 Link)
Departure : (Ao3 Link) Occurs much later in the timeline.
And the snippets that fit into the AU which may appear in actual fic, either verbatim or slightly altered.
Snippet of the whole crew
Maelstrom teaser
Knuckles moment
Sonic:
Nothing daunting or too excessive here, just a few brief analyses on Some Guy.
Along with just a couple small headcanons.
A few posts either springboarding off other's posts and/or serving as the basis for one of my AUs.
and other what-if sort of thoughts.
Along with my feelings on Silver's recent depictions.
plus three ficlets not on my Ao3. one more
Bone: Just a little bit of a rumination on the Bone saga.
Dragon Ball: I know he’s controversial, but here’s what I think Roshi could be along with a ficlet showing what Roshi could be.
Kim Possible: Here we have a pair of thoughtful posts of the what-if variety.
Along with a handful of loving headcanons.
And a coupling of ficlets that haven't made it to Ao3.
Danny Phantom: A couple joint KP & DP headcanons and a couple that are specific to DP.
Mario: Merely a miniscule headcanon. And a bit of brotherly love in ficlet form.
One Piece: Just one little headcanon, a hilarious accidental self-endorsement, and one analysis.
And finally, my TMNT master post.
Welcome to my world.
Ignore what lies beyond here, I’m just fucking sick of having to look for my own fucking posts.
It's the Some Guy of All Time's birthday: here's some art I didn't make to celebrate (also go see sthbigbang's tumblr account for a cavalcade of new stories and art that just dropped!)

I'm not in a fit state to express the influence this little blue dude's had on my development as a person nor how he's helped me make new friends in recent years, but suffice to say: I'm glad he's stuck around through a trying decade and change.
Next up in the Big Fandom Event posting schedule is the Sonic the Hedgehog Big Bang (@sthbigbang), for the second year in a row. One of the two things I did was fill in as a pinch-hitter artist for a story, and it's time to share that art.
Actually, Not Knowing the Ending is Scarier
by @brucenorris007.
I liked the visual of Shadow and Maria running for different goals during the raid on the ARK, and decided to draw that. This was fun to work with, especially messing with the lighting on this one.
And since the part of the picture with Maria gave me some blank space to work with, and a fun partially-transparent graphic when I took out the lines from Shadow's half (hooray for layers), I made a banner to go with it, even though that's not a requirement for this event:
Now, go check out the story, and also Tiny's art over here:
@toadstool32: check out the art here (part of it's animated!)
Its time!!! This year I got to do art for @brucenorris007 fic Actually, Not Knowing the Ending is Scarier on AO3 for the @sthbigbang so go check it out! And also the other art piece by @kogarashi-art !!
I'm about the farthest thing from a horror movie buff: but The Backrooms movie is indeed real fucking good. Glad I spent the last two nights watching all the Kane Parsons stuff including the unlisted videos in preparation
I either need a neck thick enough to have a monitor and paired keyboard attached to my skull so I can type as I walk, when blood flow and motion mean my creativity is at its peak
or else an equilibrium and hand-eye coordination powerful enough to write legibly by hand under the same circumstances
Much like last year it's late and I'm very very tired (woke up at 2:20AM today) but I needed to do something since actual celebration in my house has been postponed:
I think I've cracked the reason why Dark Sonic as a concept managed to grip the fandom despite--or, perhaps even in conjunction with--the fact he's barely got two minutes of screen time to his name in any licensed media.
We don't think of Sonic as a model of restraint; he represents freedom, more often than not he's got an attitude, of course we don't associate him with restraint. I've even posted about how him being a representation of freedom translates into the meta that his abilities are unfettered from things like limits.
And to see that character snap, beyond the draw of a visceral reminder that the friendly protagonist has a temper; Dark Sonic is the realization of:
"Oh. . . everything we've seen of him so far was him being considerate."
made manifest.
And then we reflect--destroying Badnik exoskeletons without harming the Flickies inside; carrying and pulling friends along at speed without breaking limbs or rattling their brains from whiplash; running only fast enough to keep from terraforming the ground he runs on. . .
Sonic's greatest asset isn't simply his speed; it's his fine control over his agility and the strength that comes with it.
He's just Some Guy; and a literal bipedal natural disaster.
That stark reminder that a representation of freedom is also a master of self-control. . .
It's a little terrifying--and utterly fascinating.
🚨BREAKING: OpenAI published a paper proving that ChatGPT will always make things up.
Not sometimes. Not until the next update. Always. They proved it with math.
Even with perfect training data and unlimited computing power, AI models will still confidently tell you things that are completely false. This isn't a bug they're working on. It's baked into how these systems work at a fundamental level.
And their own numbers are brutal. OpenAI's o1 reasoning model hallucinates 16% of the time. Their newer o3 model? 33%. Their newest o4-mini? 48%. Nearly half of what their most recent model tells you could be fabricated. The "smarter" models are actually getting worse at telling the truth.
Here's why it can't be fixed. Language models work by predicting the next word based on probability. When they hit something uncertain, they don't pause. They don't flag it. They guess. And they guess with complete confidence, because that's exactly what they were trained to do.
The researchers looked at the 10 biggest AI benchmarks used to measure how good these models are. 9 out of 10 give the same score for saying "I don't know" as for giving a completely wrong answer: zero points. The entire testing system literally punishes honesty and rewards guessing.
So the AI learned the optimal strategy: always guess. Never admit uncertainty. Sound confident even when you're making it up.
OpenAI's proposed fix? Have ChatGPT say "I don't know" when it's unsure. Their own math shows this would mean roughly 30% of your questions get no answer. Imagine asking ChatGPT something three times out of ten and getting "I'm not confident enough to respond." Users would leave overnight. So the fix exists, but it would kill the product.
This isn't just OpenAI's problem. DeepMind and Tsinghua University independently reached the same conclusion. Three of the world's top AI labs, working separately, all agree: this is permanent.
Every time ChatGPT gives you an answer, ask yourself: is this real, or is it just a confident guess?
It's never real, and not even a guess. It's just statistically likely text. The "AI", or rather LLM chatbot, knows nothing and has no concept of data or truth. And it is in most circumstances a very waste full way of producing text.
So the result was a given, but good to catch that this is known in the belly of the beast. Always useful to have when people buy into propaganda about wrong output being fixable. It isn't because it's just statistically likely text.
instead of exaggerating and emphasizing a character's prominent features to the point of caricature--
sanding down edges and distinct features (be it physical or personality) to the point of blandness and generic (usually for the sake of wider marketability)
both processes leave the character unrecognizable to who they once were, but in opposite directions
