saw a really problematic post on a vietnamese ig account and it has been giving me the irk for the past few days. the post contained several pictures with typical female physical issues: acne, stretch mark, facial hair, lower belly pouch, then followed by a caption that says "we all deserve love" (touché). the problem is one of the most liked comment was "yes to all of that except the fat belly". the OP then stated ooh the other ones can be explained by having medical condition or hereditary gene but if you're fat it's bc you are lazy and that is unexceptable. AND THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE AGREE WITH THAT. if I begin to elaborate what's wrong with that mindset it'd be a 7-page essay, but what irritates me even more is how so many young people (who are supposedly woke) are conditioned to have such ableist thought without even realising. "oh if it's medical condition then it's ok" bitch what makes you think fat people don't have mental health issue that prevents them from "ooh just eat healthy & exercise"? well then same application can be used for other so-called troubles too "ooh just use more expensive skincare, ooh just go to spa once a week". ugh I'm so pissed that vnmese people are always acting like they're nonjudgmental angels online but the minute something clashes with their capitalism mindset under the influence of excessive inaccurate content on social media they're like yes you deserve good thing but not if it's free
