man, they are not kidding when they say "Mind the gap" on the London tube. Yup, took a header transferring at Holborn - so smooth.
eight days on, and still:
ugh
and it's still all raised up, tender, and swollen underneath. i swear i hope i didn't chip the bone or something, since i got whacked in the exact same place with the edge of a steel dolly a decade ago (i do think a bit of my legging is still caught in the scab bc i was too afraid to pick at it - it didn't bleed much once i'd gotten to where i could look at it). and that's just the right leg.
#london is seriously a walking city#i would have such better legs#if i lived there#but with bad knees and feet#it's tough to keep up#like i am so slow#bc i still can't do stairs on two legs#so the underground was very challenging#also small?#like the nyc subway trains#now appear to be massive#compared to the tube#they're smaller inside than like#some airport trams#i find i like the trains best so far#heathrow express#gatwick express#really nice#also lovely people on board?#like everyone was so helpful and polite#maybe that's just english people#but also also#all the ticket people#and staff at the stations#were super helpful#or at least attempted to be#like the lady telling me what train to catch#from picadilly#it really surprised me#that there was always someone at the ticket kiosks/gates
