So close to getting the Task I set for myself done today which was tidying the asphalt back "yard" and more importantly getting all the organic debris swept from it now that the maples and elm are done dropping seed. Got about 1/6th left to do but I ran out of daylight.

The chickens got so much enrichment from all the shovelfuls of debris (I have 13 maple trees, my neighbor has an enormous elm), scratching through looking for bugs and worms. I did save the biggest earthworms, tossing them in various raised beds but for some reason there are so many worms in the debris on the asphalt instead of, say, in the dirt in the side yard. The chickens had a feast.

I think the main reason I didn't get the Task done was that I spent the time washing and disinfecting the bazillion little recycled nursery pots that had accumulated...both ones I picked up this season and those I've been transplanting out of these past few weeks. An annoying task, but it sure cleared out the clutter.

Bonus flowers:

The volunteer cornflower plants have grown into a three foot wide spread. Here's one of them. I'm thinking there will be plenty more volunteers next spring.

Hi y’all. It’s been A Month, and I’m exhausted as fuck, but ... we have a house! And we’re 98% moved in! Now we have to worry about selling the condo, but for the moment, we’re happy in our big new house with more room than we have furniture. I finally got my computer set up yesterday and my brain is inching along the road to stress recovery. Maybe. I hope.

I haven’t logged into any of my usual online games for like three weeks. My whole coping mechanism has been Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing and Cozy Grove. I’m also watching A play Triangle Strategy and it’s looking like fun combat, but the dialogue and/or voice direction is ... a struggle, at least in the beginning. Hopefully it’ll pick up as the actual story kicks in.

So. Haven’t been around Tumblr in all the chaos, hope everyone’s doing well, world chaos notwithstanding.
