Looking at the early 2000’s, always gives me a weird pain in my stomach and heart. The only way I can really describe the feeling, is like some kind of grief. Growing up in this era, kinda set my expectations for my teen hood to a pretty high standard. I was so excited to grow up EXACTLY like my older girl and boy cousins. They used to make me jealous with the cool clothes and video games they had that I didn’t. I was stuck with my Dora kitchen, those stupid squinkies (I had a designated one that I’d chew on because yeah it tasted good or smth.) beanie babies, and littlest pet shops. Not that I don’t appreciate it now, but as a kid all I wanted was a ps3, a skateboard, and allowance to watch Tosh.o or squidbillies with my uncle. 😭 But the reality of teen hood to me now, feels almost empty in a way. Ofc I’ve had good time in this era being a teenager, but I feel the way we treat each other, and the social norm isn’t the same. I wanna go back to when social media platforms and our phones weren’t the only thing that dominates our everyday lives. I dunno if others feel like this but I needed to explain. I absolutely love over analyzing 🫠😘
