a nice effect of being around haoyu,,, for those with supernatural afflictions or parasites. is that his presence can usually quiet them some.
subdue entirely? no. he's strong for sure, but i've been kind of discussing it with people and- i really don't think he'd want to cause more trouble until he knows more about the issue? he will pick up on things very, very quickly. but he rarely ever asks about them, or brings it up. because he doesn't know if the people effected know they are or not. he's had terrible experiences in the past where trying anything too soon has led to unnecessary harm. so he's careful, methodical in how he approaches these things. and may as times seem... like he's trying to make friends. when in reality he's just trying to learn everything he can.
has he made friends from these situations? sure i guess. but there have been times in the past where it's led to misunderstandings. or assumptions, which forces haoyu to admit why he's there. some have taken it well, others not so much. it's a hit or a miss- and he always apologizes for not being clear on his purpose for being there. met many times with skepticism and disbelief. but regardless, people are usually better off, despite any potential heartbreak.
