UPDATED: WTM New Song Confusion

Walk The Moon Fans! We’re long time listeners of ALT 98.7 and WTM, so here’s what probably happened: executives gave Kade the go ahead to debut “Shut Up and Dance With Me” as a New Music Discovery before it was cleared on any level, or even told to the band members. This is just speculation, but judging from what I have heard of Mike Kaplan (the program director at ALT), playing the track was a mistake on the executive level of the station. I wouldn’t blame the band (they had no idea until after the fact) or Kade (he was just following orders) for this. It is probably a mix-up between executives of the station and executives at the label. The controversy lies in the miscommunication of the playing and it’s social media alert. It was not a matter of it being played, but rather at what time and without notice it was played, since it was only played once on one radio station during low rating hours. The song was not leaked, and angry fans should understand that this probably was a mistake in procedure and media communication. Anyway, there is no official word from anyone yet

UPDATE: Rumors were started that the album may be called “Loveless” due to Kade’s tweet stating that the single was labeled as such, but Eli Maiman tweeted “By the way, I’ll tell you - and you heard it hear first - that you did not learn the title of our record today.” No other news about the matter has been posted.

SOC enjoyed hosting Star Magazine at the Hollywood Tower's Phantogram concert with 98.7fm. Looks like they had a good time too!
