just remember, especially if you're just getting into it, you don't have to listen to only one genre. one can enjoy multiple genres at the same time and that doesn't make you any less alternative or part of the community. you're not a poser for liking demi lovato AND nirvana at the same time, you're not a poser for liking music in general. that goes for extreme genre fans too, you can enjoy mcr as much as you enjoy carnifex. you're not a poser for enjoying music that is considered "other" to any subsection of the alternative community. you don't have to only use one label. you can be grunge and punk if you want to. you can be scene and emo and a metalhead and so much more. or you don't have to use any label at all if you want to. this goes for fashion too; you're not a poser if you don't "dress" alternative or if you dress for the "wrong genre." for example, i consider myself more of a metalhead, but my style is skinny jeans, kandi, really baggy band shirts, black nail polish, converse, layered hair that falls into my face and only just reaches my shoulders. we stand for diversity but that's hard to say when the community refuses to tolerate people who like anything other than metal, grunge, scene, or emo. we are a counterculture of respect and diversity; gatekeeping is poser behavior. its okay to enjoy many things at the same time, and its okay to not "look" alternative. keep doing what you're doing. i love you

Guys I need help!!!

I'm really discouraged and uncomfortable that the only people that interact with my page at all are old perverted men with nsfw pages. I really miss posting silly things and hyping each other up under our selfies and having fun interacting together. I miss it with every fiber of my being and I feel so violated when the ONLY people responding result in me seeing old man porn. I could always ignore them easily when it wasn't JUST them but now I feel so gross and sad. I know they won't ever go away and it never bothered me before when it was mixed into everything else.
