I prefer when the sun is distant.
so yeah, recently I have been looking forward to a music festival starting here in the UK called alt-fest. The idea and lineup was amazing, with a focus on the alternative music and culture scene by having a goth stage, an industrial stage and even a steampunk stage. The organisers (who are avid alternative fans themselves, not business minded folk) planned to more or less break even, putting the entirety of funding into the event or to building up next years event.
I promised myself a ticket as a reward if I got into Uni, and I did. I was really looking forward to my well earned festival, my first holiday in years and my first festival as Rhianne.
This week the festival got cancelled for a multitude of reasons calculating in "we don't have enough money to pay people to play in time, and we miscalculated our budgets badly".
I shall be getting a refund in full apparently, but I am stillr eally crushed with dissapointment. This was the shitty icing on the pisscake that is summer. Every summer for the past few years has been awful, with friends travelling further away from me, complications generally hitting my life around that time and the heat being very upsetting. Summer ends hopefully this year with me going to uni and getting approved for surgery, typically closing the summer season with the first major changes towards a better life again.
I do not feel I can trust summer months anymore, and once again I feel I have been proven right about this. I guess at least I can take my refund money and put it towards something else that will give me self care.
