It was...an eerie feeling, being out and about in the physical world after so many decades of blistering darkness. Feeling the wind on David’s cheeks --- HIS cheeks --- and the light of the stars against his skin. The FIRMNESS of the ground beneath his feet as he strolled down the sidewalk. Sniffing the air, mouth watering as the scent of beef ( hot dogs? ) permeated the air.
This flesh had been a tomb for so very long, and now it was his LIBERATION.
But there were some definite negatives to the alter and his newfound freedom. Born essentially weeks ago in the grand scheme of things, everything was just so...OVERWHELMING.
But one thing became abundantly clear, as the night grew longer and the streets began to clear of pedestrians.
Someone was following him.
While he might have shared the same body as David Haller, the alter didn’t have access to his same skill set. Hence why he couldn’t just READ the mind of his stalker.
He was more of a...PHYSICAL being.
His path diverted down an alleyway formed between two buildings, the man disappearing inside what seemed to be some sort of warehouse. Full of molded crates and worn construction equipment, rusted over with disuse.
“ I would leave, if I were you. --- It won’t end the way you’re hoping. “
Chances were, they’d been sent after David. Probably by Division Three.
They were going to be terribly fucking disappointed.
