I like to think about non/alterhumans in their everyday lives.
There is a rabbit who made your sandwich.
An elderich being teaches a math course.
The local werewolf takes care of the elderly.
Rams make up the staff at a pub nearby.
Dragons make excellent library workers.
Your favorite cashier happens to be a lion.
Your overly punctual classmate is a moth, and your less than punctual classmate is a hummingbird.
A goldfinch shops at a gift shop.
A catfish tours you through a historical site.
Across the street is a banshee who is walking their dog.
Cats work on their computers in small cafes.
And you move through your life as you are.
We are unique but certainly not alone. Your community is around you, even if you do not see it outright.
Happy Howling!
sending lots of love to all mermaids/merfolk, selkies, werewolves, other were-creatures, and all other part human or shapeshifter therians or otherkins
your identity is valid no matter what. even if you have an identity that in some way connects to humanity, it doesnt make you any less valid as a therian or otherkin in either of the communities
having any level of connectedness to humanity as an alterhuman doesn’t make you less non-human because fully human people don’t feel any disconnect. the threshold of being nonhuman is literally 1. youre nonhuman regardless of how you may or may not connect with your humanity
- from your local merfolk alterhuman
Reminder that chicks need to be taught to be birds and in the same vein it makes perfect sense that you might need to learn how to act your species. And at the beginning it may feel forced but that doesn't make you any less an animal. And just like that kitten that grew up surrounded by dogs and now barks, if you were raised by humans it's not unreasonable to believe you might come out resembling one, just remember that means nothing to what you truly are.
what is your "weirdest" / most unique /uncommon theriotypes / kins / holotype / etc
mine is mudskipper i also am a white monster energy kin i dont know why i kin that i just do
every alterhuman is valid, okay?
you’re valid if you aren’t 100% fully human all of the time
You’re valid if you are 100% fully human all of the time, you just like the label
You’re valid if you are 100% fully nonhuman all of the time
You’re valid if you get dysphoria
You’re valid if you don’t get dysphoria
You’re valid if you use gear or do things like quads
You’re valid if you don’t or can’t use gear
You’re valid if you don’t do things like quads or can’t do them for any reason
You’re valid if you’re a “weird” alterhuman
You’re valid if you have a lot of kintypes
You’re valid if you only have one or two kintypes
Youre valid if youre just learning about yourself and want the label
You’re valid if you’ve been an alterhuman for a while
You’re valid if you’ve been an alterhuman for as long as you can remember
You’re valid if you want the label just for fun
You’re valid if you’re faking alterhumanity (as long as it’s not to give it a bad name)
You’re valid if you discovered your alterhumanity through faking it
You’re valid if you don’t have the words to describe your alterhumanity
You’re valid if you make your own words to describe your alterhumanity
You’re valid if you’re a “problematic” fictionfolk
You’re valid if you’re a “problematic” factfolk
You’re valid, no matter what anycreature says.
You’re valid.
I love you /p. Keep going for as long as it takes.
Otherlinkers, funlinkers, otherpaws, and any other voluntary alterhuman identity are so important to the community, Never let anybody dictate your identity and control it
Voluntary identities have always been and always will be apart of the community ❤️
It doesn't matter why you're alterhuman--no one should feel the need to pry that out of you. No one should judge your identity based on why you think it's there. All that matters is that you are, and that you're here to be yourself. Keep doing that.
