I know this has been said before but a lot of you are pissing me off so I'm going to say it again.

Being alterhuman does not mean you have some ~special ability~ to interact with wild animals.

DO NOT go touching/chasing/ generally messing with wildlife. You aren't special and you could harm those animals, or be harmed by them. Even small things like bugs can kill you. You aren't immune to rabies.

If you scare wild animals by chasing them for species euphoria or whatever, you can genuinly kill them. Birders have a term for when it happens to birds, its called a Dread Flight. When you unnecessarily scare a wild animal, you are causing it to waste energy it needs to survive. Wildlife can't afford to waste energy. You're enjoyment is NEVER worth disturbing wildlife.

You do not have the training to rescue wild animals just because you're alterhuman. If you don't have the actual training to resue wildlife and you genuinely find an animal in need of help, CALL A FUCKING WILDLIFE REHABILITATION CENTER!!!! It isn't that hard to find the number for your local center and they'll tell you what to do, if anything, and help you if necessary.

I'm so sick of seeing alterhumans online think they can interact with wildife willy nilly just because they're alterhuman. Please fucking stop.

Pros of having a human body:

Whilst I dont necessarily mind that to non-alterhumans fictionkinning is a weird concept and I don't feel the need to water down my identity in order to appeal to anyone,

I do seek to help people understand the concept

Here's some frequently debated topics antis seem to like the most:

"You can't be a fictional character, they're fictional so they literally don't exist'

Whilst not all fictionkin identities are based on past lives, those that are — are based in the spiritual belief of the multiverse. This is the theory that there are an infinite number of universes, some very similar to our reality, some completely different. Because of the infinite factor, this means that any universe that could ever be thought of is already a universe, thinking of and writing about a universe or fictional concept in this reality does not create a universe, but due to the infinite factor it already exists.

A fictionkin may believe that in a past life they were someone in another universe who happens to be very similar or the same to an idea of a universe that is fictional in this one.

"But you couldn't have been a fictionkin before you watched the media of your fictionkin so you must be making this up"

Watching the media of your fictionkin only awakens you to realise your fictionkin identity. You may live your whole life with memories of your past life but without watching your media, there's nothing to connect those memories to, nothing to identify as. There is no way to even know your past life is a fictional concept in this universe before you watch it, so you may not even realise you have a media out there you need to look for.

"You don't even act like the character"

Whilst this is not the case for me as I have not changed much at all since my past life, I am aware not all fictionkins are this way. The reality is, growing up decades in this world IS going to change you, wether that's a tiny bit or a huge bit, it doesn't invalidate who you are, it just means you've adapted to this world. You do not have to be an exact match to the character you identify as, and we shouldn't expect fictionkins to be the way you view their character from a fictional standpoint.

as a siren while i so badly want to go back into the open waters im somewhat grateful for these legs that let me experience the other parts of the earth, walk through wooded trails and see all sorts of animals. i love and appreciate land animals no matter how big or small or toothy i hope they know this siren loves them and is happy to meet them in this life <3
