Christy Altomare
I recently got the chance to write a paper on Christy and was amazed by her journey to Anastasia. Having landed 3 roles since graduating from college, Christy found herself without a job. Rather than feel sad for herself, Christy decided to stay positive, no matter how hard that could be. This included finding an accomplishment in every thing she did, including laundry and dishes. Christy also opted to cherish every opportunity she got to do what she loved, making her grateful for her Anastasia audition. I believe having an attitude like this is what makes someone truly successful, although I know in the moment it can be one of the hardest things to do. Since a down turn is inevitable always, I hope to have Christy’s attitude when something changes in my luck.

Anastasia
This was one of the few shows I was really excited to see last season, it was one I had been waiting years to come to Broadway, as it was one of my favorite movies growing up (although a little scary). Although the creative team made some plot changes in bringing the show to Broadway, I feel like these made the show a little more “grown up” and historically accurate, making me spend the entire intermission teaching my sister Russian history. The costumes were utterly beautiful, especially the gowns Anya gets to wear. Throughout the show I found myself on the verge of tears watching Anya’s story be beautifully told. This is one of the few shows I have grown obsessed with, keeping track of the cast and what is going on with them, including Christy and Derek.
