Walker: *eyebrows raised* You were planning to sleep tonight?

Obie: Oh? Say less!

Walker: *squeals with laughter* Put me down! I was kidding! I was kidding!

Obie: *chuckles* You definitely know me better than that, Mrs. Tremblay!

Two (Separate) Showers Later

Walker: Set the alarm for 8:30! We need to be downstairs by 10.

Obie: *yawning* Already done. Tell me again, why did we plan a brunch? *gasps* Woooock me…

Walker: *giggles* Oh, I intend to.

Obie: And here, I thought you were tired.

Walker: I am. But not too tired for this. Never too tired for this, sweet husband.

Obie: *moans softly* That’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever heard you say…

Though we were both exhausted, not making love to my brand new, gorgeous husband on our wedding night was unfathomable.

It was the perfect ending to an exquisite day… I still have no words for how I felt lying in Obie’s arms as his wife... I don’t believe a word exists for that level of joy.

And no sooner than we closed our eyes, we were up and about to share our joy with our family and friends for our brunch send off.

Obie: So, you think we’re up for an excursion today or should we just stay in bed for the next few hours? *raising eyebrows*

Walker: *giggles* Ooh… That’s a tough one. On the one hand, I’m itching to see the city, on the other, I see a nice long nap in my future.

Obie: We could split the difference; nap at the beach?

Walker: Hm, I like the way you think! Buuut, there’s no hanky-panky at the beach. And let’s face it, I’m majorly in the mood for hanky-panky.

Walker: Thank you, my dear husband.

Obie: *laughs* Ok, how about we stay put for today get all our rest and, um…

Walker: Relaxation?

Obie: *suppresses a grin* Yes, relaxation. We get it all out of our system and maybe go to club tonight?

Walker: I approve.

Obie: Well then, let’s finish up here and reconvene by the pool.

Walker: Sounds like a plan!

It truly was the perfect day. From the weather to our familial assortment, I couldn’t have asked for more.

The only “downside” if you can call it that, was Obie’s GDI status, lol. He later told me, jokingly, that he was slightly jealous of my “Dear Alpha Kappa Alpha” serenade and wanted to join my stroll. We did a few group dances to level the playing field. Jerusalema was the big hit with everybody.

Pushing that aside, I don’t think either of us could have been happier. We danced the night away underneath the stars.

We landed safely in Dambele just in time to see the sun rise…

I always heard that visiting Dambele is like returning home. Though it was too soon to tell, one thing was for sure, it was stunning…

At that time of day, the world was so peaceful. 

Obie and I couldn’t wait to explore. The excitement was palpable!

By the time we pulled up to the house, we were simultaneously exhausted and rearing to go!

Obie: Sankofa House; this is it.

Walker: Home sweet home.

Obie: *chuckles* For the next 2 weeks, sure. My lady…
