savitar && iris; we fall together.
despite being salvaged from the brink of being erased from time, it made him no happier to exist. broken by the fragments of barry’s consciousness he was now privy to. / thoughts that had plagued him prior to being given a second chance held him captive. his visage was barry’s, skin, hair, dna -- memories. all pieces of barry, yet there was no acceptance from those he once deemed friends. to them he was a carbon copy of their barry. a discardable time remnant. burned by the speed that he was gifted. the suit he maintained the only protection that would keep him alive when he propelled at rapid speeds. iris didn’t see him as barry. && that perhaps stung the most. although he’d loved her all his life, ( or so his memories would war with him ) he’d always be the monster that would see her dead for power. / potency in a cruel, ever - changing world. sometimes he’d watch her, from afar as she ran errands. warded off his own urges towards her when he did.
it was rare to find her alone. -- truly alone. hovering just outside the window, he noticed her frame, tucked onto the couch; alone. / vibrating, he phased with ease through the glass, stepping into the living area that his mind told him was his. -- theirs; but reality reminded him it never would be. it was barry’s apartment. iris’ too. ❛ alone on this lovely evening ?? ❜ letting the ice of his tone travel through the air, filling the space between. barry was gone for the night. memories flooded to him, telling him precisely how long he intended to be gone. the whole night. which left iris unprotected from the likes of him. -- not that he had any intentions of ever harming iris again. / he’d been cured of such notions. it nearly broke him to be so close -- but to not have her for his own. the weakness he possessed taunted him internally. clouding his mind.
