The one thing that he had agreed upon with Vincent before the other had left to travel with Cloud, was that he would stay out of sight. Sephiroth knew a little of what had happened before he'd jumped into the lifestream- fighting with Zack, the pain of being stabbed was also fresh. He didn't remember Cloud completely, besides the fact he was infantry.

But then, the blonde had glowing mako eyes that signalled he was past that, and Sephiroth wondered if his memory was wrong. Could it be? That didn't make sense. He didn't take a defensive position or even more, cursing siently as his outward apperance stayed calm.

"I'm not here to start any kind of fight." He said slowly, his hands raising at the same speed as his words in a sign of surrender. Vincent would lose his mind, he thought wryly, the moment he saw that Cloud had seen him.

@sharpsuite . ♛ she doesn't pry, doesn't ask questions, even though she kind of wants to. pat supposes there's nothing more to this situation than it lets on ━━ hatter met his end at the games. watching him run this place for all this time, it was easy to forget he wasn't any more immune to this world than herself, or any of the others. what happened to him just felt like part of the routine for anybody else, something that could happen any time. but pat had thought, upon meeting him and being allowed to stay at the beach, that he'd last longer than this. at least long enough to finally get his full deck of cards.

she looks up from her bare feet soaking in the water when ann speaks. her glass is empty. she might not look devastated, but to see the other woman less composed than her usual self sparks her curiosity and worry alike.

" i think you earned it, " she replies, referring to her remark about needing another glass. perhaps a good friend wouldn't suggest escapism through alcohol, but pat has never been known for her healthy coping mechanisms. " were you two close? "

it's such a strange state of affairs, theirs. he's sure bri would get in major trouble if anyone knew she was with him, but perhaps she knows something he doesn't, or can pull strings he's unaware of. that would be typical for a director--perhaps she has immunities and can protect herself from abernathy, who likely wanted him dead. more than dead. made an example of. fuck. he should have done anything else besides go to jackie for help, to go through with the assassination attempt.

it's hard for him to keep his cool, even after jackie and mrs. welles help him set up. but he returned to bri. one person in the company he feels he can trust. someone close to a mom. or a big sister. people he sorely lacked and missed in proximity. he's embarrassed, however, as he's barely able to control his emotions. it's the lack of hormone regulation, he's certain. with all his medications cut off, he finds himself spiraling. losing all sense of control. feeling as though he's about to rocket into space.

"i hope so," he breathes through a tight throat, "i sure fuckin' hope so. thank you for meeting me. i don't really... know what to do with myself right now. so fuckin' stupid."

          steve knew natasha was right. he knew that the only way to get through this was to grit his teeth, get off of his ass and fight. fight against the dead. fight against the living that took those closest to him. fight back, or he might as well be in the ground with everyone else they’ve lost along the way. 

          in a way, nat’s always been good at this. pulling people up when they were down. it shouldn’t be on her to do it, but steve’s thankful anyway for the harsh reality check. so, he sniffs, shakes his head and moves to stand up and grab the bat. he looks at natasha with a serious look, nodding a little. 

          “lets do this.”

It seemed like a strange time to bring up the prospect of marriage. They were currently standing around a bunch of deceased people. She was a bit tidier when she killed. Klaus was not. It made her think of when Stefan had been a ripper and just took heads off and put them back on out of remorse. She took a soft breath as the words began to sink in. It had been hundreds of years. Maybe she had given up on the idea that he would ever ask her.

They’d barely gotten past admitting how they felt. She was still unsure of how Hope or Hayley felt about things. She would never want to upset Hope of all people. She loved that little girl. She’d gladly die to make sure she had the best life possible.

“Well, I think it’s about time we talk about it.” She offered, taking out something from her pocket to wipe her hands clean. “Have you asked Hope how she would feel?”

Running hadn’t been on the agenda. God, had things been so awful though after he and Tony had fought. His primary objective had been to get Bucky out of there and keep him safe. It wasn’t Bucky’s fault. Maybe Steve should’ve been upfront with Tony or even offered the information at all prior to this. But, he had thought that he was doing the right thing, and all he had done was make Tony feel betrayed.

Bucky was back in cryo and Steve was on his own. Well, some of the others were around as well. But he was mostly faring on his own which was strange given he’d been part of a combination of duos over the years. Being alone, completely alone, felt strange and he wasn’t certain that he liked it.​ It was late and he didn’t know how much time had gone by. It felt like time never ended for him, anyway.

The phone rang and no one really had the number. Just Tony. His heart dropped into his stomach realizing that something must be wrong. He must need him to help or he wouldn’t be calling. Regardless of what had happened, he didn’t want anything bad to happen to him, he wouldn’t be able to bear it truthfully.

He took a soft breath as he grabbed the phone in his hand and answered it. “Tony?” There was this long silence that hung in the air to an uncomfortable extent. “What’s wrong? Are you hurt? Where are you?”

“Yeah I’ve got a couple of NFT’s. Some nice fucking titties that is.”
