I believe originally for Furious 7, there was more Han/Giselle scenes filmed but were ultimately cut after the rewrites when Paul passed, it explains why Sung and Gal's names were credited higher than Elsa Pataky despite having no dialogue at all

Yep. I think you’re right. We know for sure Gal and Michelle filmed together at an hospital that was supposed to be located in Mexico (PIC). Since they had to re-write a big part of the script, I think they must have cut those flashback scenes to focus a bit more on Brian’s story.
