My family lives on Gadigal land and pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging of the Eora Nation on whose country we live. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today is a day of mourning and the anniversary of a country and people being invaded. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It will always be a day of mourning. How can it not be. Sovereignty was never ceded. This is Aboriginal land. Always was. Always will be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I #PayTheRent with an annual donation to @djirravic. Today I also purchased from a Blak business @hausofdizzy ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We spent a nice quiet day at home. The Welshman cooked and watched the cricket. The Teenager played games online with his mates and did his locust plague kitchen mine sweeps. I watched TV and did some reading with strategic fan placement. Dear gods it was hot! Outside resembled a dryer, so I took full advantage and washed everything! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m wearing two Aboriginal artist prints from the @mangkajaarts X @gormanclothing collab, teamed with a bangle stack featuring the beautiful hand painted bracelet I bought whilst on holiday in Uluru ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #alwaywasalwayswillbe #noprideingenocide #lestweforget (at Gadigal Land) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKgIEM-Hti9/?igshid=1rgq6905uey63
Paying my respect to the oldest culture on earth, the longer lasting society, ten folds+ any other. Still here. For us all to respect and learn. Tomorrow many Australian celebrate an invasion. Tomorrow many other will celebrate a survival. #alwaywasalwayswillbe
