If you're up and about in the forests of Hoenn you will come across one of the most interesting bug type Pokémon, not because it itself is strong or rare but because it has a vastly interesting biology.
Wurmple is a Pokémon that has divergent evolutionary lines, ending in Dustox and Beautifly.
What's interesting about this is there are some parts of the Hoenn region where wurmple will just pick one or the other but never both, suggesting perhaps that long ago there may have been an advantage to picking one form over another. Or perhabs that a more recent adaptation and or change in their environment has sparked this being more common? Historical records of the Pokémon have some areas believing that Beautifuly and Dustox were two serperate lines!
Dustox is an absolutely gorgeous Pokémon and one that like it's counterpart Beautifly is important to nature, during the day Beautifly will roam spreading pollen from flower to flower and at night Dustox does similar! Using its wings to trap dust and pollen that naturally spreads as it flies.
If you have a desire to make what some people call Butterfree or Beautifly Gardens, it depends on your region though some places they're used interchangeably, avoid buying those large flower covered bushes that are called Beautifly Bushes, while they can provide an excellent source of nectar they will end up being the only thing these pollinators go to and that can vastly decrease the amount of biodiversity and overall health of your garden. Instead focus on collecting local plants and dig a small dirt pond for them. These bug type Pokémon need nutrients from dirt that they can't get from plants so they drink from puddles and ponds and calm river banks to get the nutrients from the dirt.
