they killed it this ep like they truly fuckin killed it holy shitttt.

the 3 month time jump with the obvious change in their dynamic of being more comfortable with each other and teasing each other without the meaner edge it had in past eps, them smiling at each other.

joel being BLATANTLY more fatherly, that whole dinner where he was like "ellie, let's mind our manners".

joel's talk with tommy literally CRYING as he admits he's terrified for ellie and not being able to protect her.

also get bella ramsey some fuckin awards for the conflicted feelings they managed to convey through ellie seeing joel and tommy hug, learning about sarah, defending joel to maria. ellie was so obviously struggling with some amount of jealousy and longing there mixed with the sympathy and it HURT me.

also speaking of bella, the "everyone fucking except for you" talk!!! the aftermath of it and how utterly heartbroken ellie looks and the silent apology at the stables and how joel seemed to get even more fatherly after it.
