Singing it with me now!
Singing this to myself in bed (with an attempt at less Aussie twang).
Just realised a not insignificant part of why I enjoy my singing lessons is that someone tells me what to do, I do it, then I get praise.
Relationship status: singing Unchained Melody to myself while having the world's warmest shower.
9/8 is a terrible time signature and I'll never forgive Jason Robert Brown for it.
themightyif said: Aw, that’s so cool! :D THank you for sharing! You're welcome. I know it's not perfect. But I definitely think I've come a long way. I seem to have mostly shaken the weird British accent I developed after some not great teaching (and self-teaching). My pitch issues are MUCH better (though still not perfect) after lots of work on technique, but probably most importantly when I listen to myself I hear a singer with a nice voice with moments of greatness alongside the moments of not-so-greatness. So now it's all about working on consistency. I'm getting there.
Here is a recording of me singing that I don't totally hate, in case you would enjoy such a thing.
As part of my awesome present from luckettopia, I went to Starmaker Studio in Castleford and recorded cover versions of two of my favourite songs. The second song I recorded was 'River Deep Mountain High' by Tina Turner. Those of you who've been dragged to karaoke with me will know this is one I like to break out often, haha! :)
