i totally feel like it. this is going to be really cute!
set in the grey’s anatomy canon verse, during jackson & april’s elopement.
Morning sun washes white walls in pale yellow, a clock on the bedside table reads 8:45 AM and the only audible noise comes from soft breathing and contented sighs; lovers basking in the gentle haze of newly married bliss, limbs tangled like roots as they lie in bed together.
Jackson’s aquamarine hues briefly gaze over at the clock, his bare chest rising and falling with a deep sigh as reality sets in: he and April are going to have to check out of their hotel room in an hour, which means they really should get out of bed and start getting ready for the day.
He shifts slightly, trying to nudge his wife off of him gently or signal her attention that their time is running out. The redhead tightens her hold on him, pulling him closer — if that were even possible.
“April,” He chuckles softly, his fingers brushing through her fiery tresses, “sweetheart, we have to get up.”
“You’re so warm…” She hums in reply, her fingertips ghosting over his stomach lazily, almost absentmindedly.
“I hear you, but we really need to get up, love. Our checkout time is in an hour, we don’t have a lot of time.”
April groans in protest, but obliges to her husband’s words and unwinds herself from around him. Jackson grins down at her and presses a soft kiss to her lips, before getting out of bed and picking up his clothes.
The redhead watches her husband for a beat, then joins him in picking up after themselves and the reality that their mini honeymoon was slowly drawing to a close.

for the open ask box: what is the storyline you would have liked to see for Japril?
this is an insanely good question, oh my gosh.
honestly, i would’ve loved to see jackson and april actually date, instead of watching their friends with benefits dynamic fizzle out.
i’ll also have to agree with sarah and jesse on the idea of japril’s marriage not having to end. i believe, just as they do, that japril’s problems could have been worked out and they could’ve remained endgame.
another storyline that would’ve been amazing to see is samuel getting to live. it would’ve raised a lot of awareness on OI and so many other characters in the show could’ve been part of that storyline as well.
What would you like to see in a potential spin-off? I would LOVE to see them trying dating after a marriage, a divorce and two children
a japril spin-off is my dream and here’s to hoping that it happens! here’s what i’d like to see in the potential spin-off…
considering jackson and april have already reconciled their relationship in the canon grey’s universe, i believe the show would start us off with them dating, which is something we never got to see.
they also live together in a gorgeous house. i’m picturing white and blue details and a ton of throw pillows.
after dating for awhile, jackson and april get remarried. both catherine and karen take over wedding planning and that brings them closer, but it also brings up a bit of tension— which is resolved by the help of their children.
jackson and april do have one more child a year after they get remarried. by the grace of god, there are no complications during the pregnancy or the child’s birth.
crossover stuff! april and jackson get called back to grey-sloan memorial to work on a big case. i can also see some familiar faces from grey-sloan going up to the foundation as well.
i think that just about covers it! i can’t think of anything else i’d like to see in the spin-off.
i think jackson really likes calling april, “sweetheart” and “baby” while april might lean towards calling jackson by his name, “my love,” and “baby” as well.
