I ship her with Rantaro, I'm pretty boring like that really. I've never liked shipping the lovelorn character with their person of interest, I dislike Togami x Toko, I really dislike Kaz x Sonia, and that does not change with Himiko x Tenko. In fact I'd say the ire most of the fandom seems to take with the initial 2 pairings while allowing Himiko x Tenko to be so popular is, frankly, quite distasteful. But then again, taste is subjective, and the taste of the community differs from mine, fullstop.
As for other options, I generally think they have better options than to be with Tenko. Angie I think is a lot more compelling with Korekiyo, I am deeply in love with Saimatsu as a pairing, Gonta and Tsumugi are too cute to not be together, Maki and Kaito are like me and my irl partner so there's 0 way I'm getting in the way of that pair. Go down the list and you get Rantaro, which - honestly - isn't even that bad of a pairing for Tenko.
Tenko's a lot of things, but Naive is the first word that comes to mind with her. A lot of her worldview is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the world around her, that may have accelerated some internal thoughts and feelings she was always going to have, where she exists with a skewed view of how men are and how women are. Rantaro is a lot of things, but we know he's not the 'typical male' that Tenko finds so objectionable, he is an wanderer on a journey to save his sister/s, and based on all of his FTEs and his overall design his true talent seems to be that of an ultimate explorer, or at least is an alternative for ultimate survivor.
The important thing is that Rantaro's patient, Rantaro has seen a lot more of the world than Tenko has, and defies a lot of the expectations Tenko has grown comfortable believing. And the way to combat ignorance and a shallow worldview isn't with lectures or scoldings, it's by showing the world as it is on its terms. And I'm really fixated on the image that one day, maybe in the middle of their school life together, or maybe when it's all done, Tenko comes to the realization that her world is too small, and she wants to help more people, see more of the world, so why not join him on his journey for her own self-fulfillment?

Monster Rantaro x Tenko headcanons
Tenko is a monster hunter and absolutely hates all monsters... And men...
Rantaro on the other hand is undead. He doesn't remember much from his past life... All he knows is that he needs to find his sisters so he can help them.
When the two met each other he asked her for help and she accepted although she was sceptical. But she wouldn't risk lives of those girls just because she needs to be around a male-corpse. That's double the gross but a worthy sacrifice.
So they traveled together. He was slowly getting back his memories with each clue he found. But he didn't wanted to believe any of them.
Although it made him feel guilty he never told Tenko about his memory recovering.
She knew something was up with him and she never lost her guard for a second. If he tried anything he'd end up double dead and that's all there is to it.
However since she didn't know what was bothering him she couldn't press for any info.
Honestly he was surprised she insisted on helping him out... They were strangers and on top of that he was her "enemy". He knew she didn't do it for him but for his sisters, and yet it still warmed up his heart he wasn't sure if he still had.
But it also made him feel guilty for not saying anything about his memories... So he decided to finally speak.
The truth was hard to accept... Not only that he wasn't certain if it was the full truth (it was).
The story was simple: he was alive many many years ago with his sisters. They all died young due to an illness. However in Rantaro's case it was poison from a witch, which was the reason why he woke up but his sisters didn't. He also died far away from them in the witch's house so that's also why he was buried far away from them. The reason he met up with her was because he believed she had a cute for his sisters' illness but she didn't and just wanted to trick some noble brat into drinking her poison to see if she was able to create zombies... But she didn't even live to see those results.
Tenko didn't know what to think. She was mad but she didn't know at who. Maybe it was just because the story was so unfair... She wanted to think he made it up so she'd pity him but she couldn't help but believe him.
She didn't know what he'd do now... After all he had nothing out there for him right?
So upon asking she was surprised to hear that he alredy had an answer. He decided to continue traveling. He thanked for her trouble and left.
At least he tried to... She stopped him. She didn't know why but Tenko knew that she'd miss adventuring with him so she said "I'll keep an eye out for you so you don't attack any humans on your way"
So they were traveling ever since, this time without a goal. He got a second chance in life... Might as well understand the world around him... And Tenko while he's at it.
Tenko! If she catches a lady unloading a moving van she comes running to help. Oftentimes waving Rantaro over to help. He happily does so and returns the favour when he sees ANYONE doing it alone when he has the time.
Tenko likes to gift share-house uni students cookies and mothers with a simple lunch to help ease them into the neighbourhood. Rantaro adores her domestic side.
who remembers to buy healthy food?
Both! As they both have very strict/wholesome diets. Tenko has a mega sweet tooth though. Rantaro likes to bake things with natural sweeteners as her sugar crash is nowhere near as bad. She gets cranky after too much sugar anyway so it works out for the both of them. It turns into fortnightly bake sessions where they get to be affectionate and a team and get a treat at the end of a long day. You bet bake-offs happen on the holidays. They love valentines day. Always ending the comp by feeding & complimenting the other <3~
who remembers to buy junk food?
Tenko. She loves the taste of mint chocolate on Rantarou's lips. It always leads to a smoochfest And Rantarou loves the fact she's always thinking of him. He makes her special boba on hard days. Plus they both love nibbles on movie nights. Kettle corn, nuts, M&Ms...It's usually reserved for special occasions when they're both coping with something...
who fixes the oven when it breaks?
Rantaro. Tenko tries and just gets angry. They end up fighting about it cuz Rantaro also gets stuck... Tenko surprises him with a new+improved oven the following weekend cuz she's sorry. He nearly cries. Gifts are a big deal to him.
She gets him to stop saying thank you with: "Shhhh, darling, it's ok. Just cook Tenko dinner for a week and you're off the hook, ok~? Love you!"
who waters the plants/feeds their pet(s)?
Pets: Tenko. Their husky is just as affectionate and energetic as her so they bond very easily. She's like her baby. They have a chicken too. It's very affectionate thanks to Tenko lol. When Rantaro started eating cleaner and wanted her support, she got a hen to tease him but ended up falling in love with her.
Plants: Rantarou. Tenko just forgets sometimes//gets distracted by Kiwi & Miss-Eggs-A-Lot. So Rantarou makes sure to check the soil. It's a hobby of his so he's happy.
who wakes up earlier?
Tenko! But she wakes him and drags him on her morning run. Unless he's had a long night. But she gets him back into the routine with some coffee and brings him to bed at an appropriate time. He actually loves how serious she is with it, as when he returns from trips his jetlag is BAD. But she helps me get back into the swing of things.
who makes the bed?
Rantarou. He likes to slowly wake up by tidying the room while Tenko prefers to jump outta bed to ensure she won't be tempted to snuggle Rantaro and fall back into deep sleep. It's perfect though cuz she gets their clothes + toothbrushes ready.
who makes the coffee?
Both! Weekends; Tenko. Cuz she knows how much Rantarou likes his lazy days. They do yoga these days.
Weekdays; Rantarou. His tea preference changes daily lol and Tenko loves how he makes it.
who burns breakfast?
Tenko. She gets way too easily distracted. It's okay though, cuz she just makes bacon/eggs, quick quesadillas, etc, extra crispy. Rantarou loves how creative she gets sometimes to save it. It's always a nice surprise. once they had fried rice for breakfast.
But it's ok, cuz some mornings Rantarou saves her and brings her back to the present by hugging her from behind and helping out.
how do they let each other know they’re leaving the house?
Tenko always asks where her things are 30 mins in advance so Rantarou has the chance to gather her things and hide her wallet to get more hugs & kisses.
When she does leave though, she's very loud about it, I mean, yelling as she closes the door loud; "TENKO'S LEAVING, LOVEBUG." and texts him on the train something sassy/sweet. Usually a reminder that there's a surprise in the fridge/bedroom/yard.
Rantaro's always ready 30 mins in advance so he can chase Tenko for hugs and kisses. He likes to take a moment to check in on her and remind her, she's the most amazing woman he's ever met.
how do they greet each other when one of them gets home?
Tenko likes to sneak up on Taro and bomb him with affection. Loving it especially when he screams like a girl.
Rantaro usually holds her for a while depending on the day. Usually leaving a kiss on her head when she's busy and makes her pinky promise cuddles later.
who brings home little gifts like flowers/chocolates more often?
Rantarou. He's a hopeless romantic. There's this vase in the bedroom he likes to refill with fresh flowers to keep the room smelling natural. He knows how much words of affirmation mean to Tenko so he writes her poems and leaves her love notes with her bento/when he leaves to search for his sisters and Tenko can't get time off.
But Tenko enjoys surprising him too. It's like a competition to her now. She's working on a scrapbook for him that's completely hand-made. Rantarou still doesn't understand her sudden obsession with selfies and taking photos of him.
who picks the movie for movie night?
Tenko. She's too opinionated not to. They rock, paper, scissors to decide most nights. Rantarou usually wins but likes to pick things FOR Tenko sometimes.
their favorite kind of movie to watch?
Action/Adventure/Comedy! It's an adrenaline thing I think. But Disney's a close second since Rantarou was brought up on them and Tenko loves the princesses/staying up to date with the kids at her dojo.
who first suggests a pillow fort?
Rantarou, surprisingly! Tenko was down one day and Rantarou thought it'd improve her mood. He was right. She always asks to do it again. It's a running joke between them now.
who builds the pillow fort?
Rantaro. Cuz Tenko's too busy running around the house to grab more supplies. He literally tackles her into the fort on one of her laps. They rebuild it together. And movies are so much better in it. Especially in the winter.
who tries to distract the other during the movie?
Rantaro when he's extra clingy/not ok.
Tenko when she's excited about something in her life and just wants to keep talking. He shushes her with hot chocolate, hugs, head scratches and massages.
who falls asleep first?
Tenko. She crashes so quickly it's hilarious. Rantarou loves how clingy she is unconscious. He teases her about it all the time.
who is big spoon/little spoon?
Both!! They switch constantly. c o n s t a n t l y. No matter where. Playing video games. At Taro's desk. In the kitchen. It's adorable. They love hugging/receiving equally so it all works out.
