Summary:

[Post-Tale of the Body Thief, pre-Memnoch the Devil] It’s Christmas Eve, 1992, New Orleans. Lestat and Louis are reunited, adjusting to this new chapter together in New Orleans. Lestat’s loyal companion Mojo might not have saved anyone from a burning building last year, but he has a role yet to play for his doting master and his master’s lover. Lestat has a gift for Louis. Also: As soon as they returned from the Rio trip, David announced that he was going off on his own pilgrimage to settle mortal affairs and such. Lestat was shocked and injured, thinking that he finally had his little coven together, and tried to invite himself – claiming that he’d set up all the trusts for himself to keep his fortune flowing. He even wheedled David that there was much he didn’t know. Louis had come to Lestat privately and persuaded him that David needed the time alone and Lestat sulked for a few days before rallying and even being relieved.
