Jenny Kramer knows she isn't normal. After all, not everybody can see the past lives of people around them.
When she befriends Ben Daulton, resident new boy, the pair stumble on an old music box with instructions for “mesmerization” and discover they may have more in common than they thought. Like a past life.
Using the instructions in the music box, Ben and Jenny share a dream that transports them to Romanov Russia and leads them to believe they have been there together before. But they weren't alone. Nikolai, the mysterious young man Jenny has been seeing in her own dreams was there, too. When Nikolai appears next door, Jenny is forced to acknowledge that he has travelled through time and space to find her. Doing so means he has defied the laws of time, and the Order, an ominous organization tasked with keeping people in the correct time, is determined to send him back.
While Ben, Jenny and Nikolai race against the clock - and the Order - Jenny and Nikolai discover a link that joins them in life - and beyond death.
Endless by Amanda Gray is an amazing science fiction romance novel. Words cannot express how much I adore this story. I remember scrolling through books to read and when I reached this one, I squealed with excitement. The small summary in the beginning was enough to urge me to read on.
The story starts off with Jenny dreaming of her past life, however, you dont know it yet. (SPOILER ALERT) The love story between Nikolai and Jenny was perfect. I mean, they lived a past life together, only to have it ripped away from them then Nikolai travels to the future, risking everything, just to be with her. How romantic can it get?! At first, I thought Jenny and Ben would fall in love, so when Nikolai came into the picture I expected the typical love triangle. But when it turned out that Ben was just a friend, it made me like the story a lot more because it wasn't stereotypical.
I'm not sure why but I really enjoy reading about reincarnation and/or past lives. I'm not sure how to describe it but if I could this novel would be the definition. The way Jenny, Nikolai, and Ben were tied together in Romanav Russia, then were brought back to meet again in the future was mind boggling. The addition of The Order was a good twist too, giving the story a more science fiction feel.
I was surprised when I learned that Jenny and her father had a decent relationship. (SPOILER ALERT) I admired their relationship because even though he pushed her towards her architectural skills, he still supported her artistic side. He wasn't the type of father who closed himself off from his daughter because his wife was gone from their lives.
My favorite part was how the characters were supportive and understanding of each other. (SPOILER ALERT) Jenny trusted Tiff with everything and instead of bailing out of her crazy life, she stepped in. Even though Morgan betrayed her, she was still a big help in the end. Her and Ben's friendship was the most prominent because they trusted each other so easily, even after the rockiness in the beginning.
Nikolai and Jenny's relationship made me feel giddy and warm inside, even now actually. You could feel the chemistry between the fictional characters and I honestly wanted to jump in the story to join them. That's why I was completely heartbroken when (SPOILER ALERT) Nikolai was sent back to his own time. I mean I was happy when he escaped The Order but now all I have is hope. Hope that they will be together again and we will be able to read about them in the sequel (fingers crossed!)
Endless by Amanda Gray is a breathtaking science fiction romance novel that is worth reading. There were so many amazing qualities to the story; the romance, the action, the intensity. But what I loved most was the originality. You would expect one thing and it would be the complete opposite. Gray didn't follow stereotypes. She went down her own route and I praise her for it. I highly (HIGHLY) recommend this novel.
Happy reading my fellow Teen Literati’s! Natalie x
