collaboration spotlight — Until the End of Time by Amanda Jay & J.None

There's nothing quite like a good old-fashioned love song. The words don't need to be complicated as long as the sentiment is sincere. These two singers teamed up for an earnest and skillful rendition of a recent hit, and definitely did it justice.

My favorite bits:

the flowing tag-team riffs before the lyrics begin

the layering in the chorus that lets J.None cover both the high and low parts (He has the range, darling.)

Amanda's rhythmic freedom in the second verse, adding little pushes and pulls to enhance the emotion of the lyrics

the counterpoint moments in the second chorus

J dipping into his bass register at the end of the bridge

finishing with warm, simple unison

Trivia:

Amanda was first encouraged to pursue music as a profession by her aunt when she was fifteen. Since then, she has performed throughout Florida, as well as in Atlanta and New York.

The video was filmed and produced by Tristan Brown, who does a lot of J.None's cinematography.

The TV screen in the background of the indoor shots of Amanda shows a teaser for J.None's next solo release, "Back at Home", which would come out a few months later.

The original song was first released as a solo Timberlake track on his 2006 album "FutureSex/LoveSounds". It was re-recorded as a duet with Beyoncé for the deluxe edition a year later.
