Lee didn’t fall in love with Amanda at first sight.

He’d been running for his life, and she’d been preoccupied with dropping her boyfriend off at the train station. Their first meeting had been filled with confusion as he dropped the package into her unwilling hands and then ran the other way to lead his pursuers away from her.

But looking back long afterwards, Lee realized something about that first meeting.

He’d trusted her at first sight.

He, Lee Stetson, the spy with five little black books and a list of trust issues longer than one of Amanda’s shopping lists, he—had instantly trusted her, the suburban housewife, the woman with nothing more exciting in her life than Little League and Junior Rangers.

And he’d never stopped trusting her since, with his work, with his life, and finally—long before he ever told her—with his heart.
