She had broken in, again, and had decided to make herself comfortable perched atop a table, her back to the door as she absently scrolled through her phone, adding dates to her calendar and details about newly made deals coded out to sound mundane. It wasn’t the first time she had done this and, honestly, it wasn’t going to be the last. 

The sound of footsteps had her turning, assuming it was Wyatt or one of the kids she actually had met before. “Your security needs updating if I’m getting in this eas--oh.” The words were cut off as she caught sight of a boy she had never seen before, assuming this had to be the new kid Wyatt had mentioned to her the last time she had pulled a stunt like this. 

“Hi?”

“There are locks on the windows. And a state of the art, military-grade security system installed, but I’m guessing you already knew that for you to have bypassed it somehow, so, are you going to tell me how you broke into my house and why?”

“Then maybe you need better locks and a better security system,” she shot back, smirking softly at him. “If I told you how, I’d have to kill you. As for why? Would you believe me if I said I was just hoping to see your ass?”
