VW invests $580m in Argentina to launch next-gen Amarok for South America
Volkswagen (VW) is preparing to roll out a revamped version of its Amarok mid-size pick-up truck, specially designed for the South American market, with production set to begin in Argentina in 2027.
To support the launch, VW is investing $580 million into its Pacheco plant, aiming to fully equip the facility for the demands of the new Amarok generation.
Volkswagen brand CEO and Brand Group Core head Thomas Schäfer emphasized: “Regional growth and localization are important elements of our global plan for the future. This investment strengthens our position in a region that is strategically important for the Volkswagen brand. The new Amarok will be developed, designed and produced in South America, for South America. This means that it will be perfectly aligned with the specific needs of our customers in this market.”
