yes correct. volumes could be written about the (quintessential american) disney approach to sexuality. man/man attraction can only exist if played as a joke*, and only from men who are not models of mainstream masculinity (aliens are the safest option, as like everything produced right now demonstrates, but if we can’t have those, non-manly men or generically weird ones are alright) and directed to models of mainstream masculinity (on top of my mind I can recall Steve and Thor as recipients of male attraction - of course those two are attractive and plenty of real life men are attracted to them, but it also says a lot that only hyper-conventionally-attractive blond white men are allowed to be associated to male attraction, erasing the complexity of m/m attraction that often defies mainstream models of desirability).

*the only time it’s not played as a joke it’s literally about grief. i guess gays can die and suffer :) then again, the fact that it’s joe russo and that the scene only exists to emphasize steve rogers’ outstanding, logic-defying heterosexuality make the scene a joke in its own way.

OH HECK!!! She totally is! 😂😂😂 This is so funny, we had no idea! The people we got her from were like “she’s some sort of mix” and the vet said the corgi thing too, so we were like okay that makes sense. I’d never heard of the Swedish Vallhund though, and it seems neither did any of those other people, because that’s definitely what she is! They look a lot like corgis but aren’t actually related closely, it seems. So interesting!! Thank you for this, I owe you one haha 💛

I'm currently reading A Great and Gruesome Height by mokuyoubi, I was told it's one of the best, ans I'm enjoying it!

my friend, that is the FIRST fic i read <3 and i found it, very much by accident and to my very great delight, solely because of the title, i was not even looking for hannibal fic at the time. i devoured it. and then, when i thought i was going to go back and reread my favorite parts, i ended up rereading every chapter because, as it turns out, all of it was my favorite part. i don’t know how far along in it you are but you are in for such a wonderful experience!

thank you thank you thank you, what a list! i will check out these authors ASAP. as above, i already happened upon mukuyoubi (what a serendipitous delight, her works are murder-wrapped dreamy) but i’m so looking forward to loading up my kindle with all of these writers!

I go for a bottle of spray bleach, a long pointy stick, and of course my small highly-motivated pack of trained spider attack dogs. (⌐■_■) (hint: the motivation is slices of ham)

i’m not actually an indiscriminant killer; there are rules, depending on species and environment. they come in my room, they die--except e.g if they’re a big beautiful orb weaver; that gets the cup and cardboard treatment and an escort outside. likewise huntsmans, who only want to love you and run exactly like peter capaldi sped up. however, redbacks and whitetails get the spray and/or shoe, mouse-spiders get the brick cos they’re fucking massive and trapdoor spiders/funnelwebs in the pool can hang about until they drown and/or get eaten by the creepy crawly, we’ll wait the necessary 48 hours to be sure.
