Another piece from PBS Masterpiece (piece from piece, ehehehe), this time featuring some of the cast.
While filming a scene with Sam Claflin for The Count of Monte Cristo, Ana Girardot accidentally caught herself on fire. “We were doing a very dramatic scene with Sam [Claflin] and the camera was on him and the camera was moving towards him, but I never want to leave Sam’s eyes. So I [moved to] the left and suddenly I felt like a hand on my shoulder… And actually, I was next to a candle and I was on fire. I didn’t want to stop, I was like ‘It’s okay, we can keep going on the scene.’”
When you're so mesmerised by Sam Claflin's eyes that you don't notice you're on fire. Nothing could be more relatable about Ana! (Take it from someone who has met Sam, his eyes are Like That.) It must be their scene from E7 when Mercedes comes to plead for Albert's life, there is not other scene they share that has candles, as far as I remember. Also, the dialogue is pretty intense, which also might be the reason she didn't want to stop.
Also cool fact about Blake Ritson and his brother!
