Of Airplanes and Landing Lips
Nobody has ever been well traveled than a flight attendant, like duh?!, they travel for work, they do it on their days off, they dream about it sometimes even get nightmares about it. when its about traveling this people knows all the tricks, hole in the wall, bargains, and secrets of each country as if they live there. They may be grumpy and hagard at times but on their good days these are the best people you will ever meet... even the hottest too, just saying. This is my crowd and our world is so much different from everybody else. People will get glimpse of it but never will they understand.
But I am sure you have heard like a broken record, being a flight attendant aint that glamorous. I have worked with two major airlines in the world, two very different airlines. Both have very different culture. My first airline, kind of like my first love, feels like I am living the dream! International flights straight out of training, an apartment provided by the company, unbelievable access to different hotels and clubs around the world, people taking pictures with you as if you are a movie star. I had no expectations so the surprises just kept coming. But the glamour didn't last long and I longed for something more. It was a good airline for a fresh, new grad gal like me.
My second airline is just as popular as my first, but not to me. I didn’t know about this airline till I got a video interview invite from them. I had to second guess working for them. This airline was far from perfect, I can say its glamour days has long passed but I know it could still rise once again. That being said, my second airline could be just as good as my first. I was so different from when I started being a flight attendant. I learned a lot, developed thick skin, became more sure of who I am. For that I got to say I owe all of that to them. It wasn’t all glitz and glamour, but with them I became a better person, or so I think.
I can not believe I am just writing about my experience, but now I just want to share to everyone. Better late than never right? Feel free to ask me questions and I’ll try my best to answer.
