It's so hard to live in Brazil right now

Really, it's scary. It's feels like we're living in a fucking dystopia. I cry every week just seeing all the shit that is happening. It's not just the Amazônia that is on fire. Our education, our health, our rights, our people are the targets of this fascist government. And we cant just ignore. It's on our daily life life. Every single day we have to see what craziness this president is doing with our country. It's so heavy to have to deal with all of this. It's depressing seeing my place going backwards. And the worse of all is that I can't see a lot of hope on the future. Just more assaults to our rights.

"It Takes" When hope has no place, truth holds no value, our minds scream, stay awake, soon it takes, soon it takes, lefts fight for rights, rights for a right, out of speech, out of sight, so it takes, so it takes, unseen hand that hold-us down, watch dogs silenced without a sound, when it takes, when it takes, language with no meaning, words locked away, only pictures stay, how it takes, how it takes, we lie on tracks, hope our lives are worth the brakes, whatever it takes, whatever it takes, train hits, impact made soft, souls shake, rip limbs off, it takes, it takes. • • This poem was inspired by something I realized about hmmm a week or so back. Pretty much when people started posting about the Amazon being burnt down. (side note I really think Amazon needs to buy The Amazon, Bezos is already burning billions launching phallic objects into outer space for no reason, maybe he can go after the rainforest and round out his IP.) Backstory. It was 4 am August 5 I was feeling blue (as usual) and I had posted a story "Headlines that gave me a migraine" 😂 because that's a common side affect of staying up so late. I asked a poll (just for kicks) should we read the news. Stay woke or ignore the news. YOLO! About 45% replied YOLO. Point 4. Was about the Brazilian scientist being fired by the Brazilian President when he presented deforestation data. Change, those important moments in history, don't just take place suddenly, there are always signs of something that is to come. And hindsight is 20-20 but if there are red flags coming up, we should talk about it when the flags arise not when we are about to be engulfed by smoke and flames. Sometimes we can't keep up with it by ourselves, that's where good journalism comes in (they are the real smoke detectors) We owe it to our future selves to stay informed because one day there will come a tipping point and it will be too late. Then all the tweets and prayers and protests and calls for revolution will be pointless, because when we could have done something, we did nothing because we were too busy.
