The Amazon River Dolphin, they’re pink! And also very strange looking. Local legends paint them to be shapeshifting tricksters that transform into humans that come ashore, although they have to wear hats to hide their blowholes. I wanted to make this mermaid’s face distinctly dolphin looking, seeing as these creatures are so unique looking, I wanted her to be familiar but also creepy.
