Hey guys,

I've decided to delete today's Uncharismatic Fact regarding amazon river dolphins because, as someone pointed out, it's a bit dubious at best. The original article which I had as my source was a bit old and somewhat vague, and there aren't many other reliable sources discussing it.

In leiu of today's fact, please enjoy these highly scientific images of two male Amazon river dolphins (Inia geoffrensis) having completely normal, non-nasal sex:

Also look at this neat little drawing I found in an old sketchbook! A Boto/Amazon river dolphin looking up at the sun breaking through the rainforest canopy. Mayhaps a nice idea for a painting some day.

River dolphins kinda give me the ick.

Did you know Amazon river dolphins “melon” is soft and flexible, so it can contract and ungulate? I wish I didn’t!

They are also the only dolphins that are heterodontic (more than one type of tooth). They have the stereotypical conical shaped teeth near the front, and molars comparable to a humans in the back. Not terrifying at all 👍
