I’mma talk about two of my new OCs cause they’re fresh on my mind right now lol
This is Amber. She’s a nerd but also a bit of a rebel complete with an Angsty Backstory™
And this is Nicole. She’s kind of a jock but she’s just generally a ball of sunshine and a huge softie.
They’re the two main characters in one of around three original stories that I have ideas for and I have a good chunk of this one mapped out including most of Amber’s backstory and how they first meet as well as a few other character concepts.
Just for interest’s sake here are some alternate designs for the two of them because I feel like these ones give off their personalities better lmao
Summary: As Amber and her friends return to the wedding reception after defeating Anton, Amber realizes her family is much bigger than she knew, and she’s grateful for each and every one of them.
Author’s note: There’s been going a lot of talk about how sad it is that while everyone is embraced by their family members, TRR MC is greeted by her dog.
Sir Wiggles (Or Chance) is adorable, but yes, it is sad.
So I had to go and re-write that, with my version of the story of course.
I’m recommending to read Family Means Everything before you read this fic, if you’re interested in that. I have to admit this won’t fit every TRR MC because it revolves around Amber, and the background I’ve came up with for her.
Also! Mentions of Lovehacks and ROE! ^^
Hope you’ll like it!

As the gang gets back to Amber and Liam’s wedding reception, everyone is embraced by their family members.
Liam is pulled by Regina and Leo, Hana by Lorelei and Xinghai, Drake by Savannah, Maxwell by Bertrand, and...
Amber by Heyely.
She hugs her cousin tightly, fighting back tears.
“Amber!! I’m so glad you’re okay!” Hey cousin, who was like a sister to her, breathes out into the crook of her neck.
Amber can feel Sir Wiggles nuzzling at her feet, making a soft ‘Arooo’ to make sure she’s truly okay.
She softly wipes a single tear of her cheek, and turns to her sister again.
“I know. I am too,”
The panic starts to calm down, as everyone slowly drift apart, still hanging behind their loved ones.
Liam slowly approaches Amber, as he whispers in her ear. “Do you want to do the honors?” He asks.
He must be talking about letting everyone, and the media know - That Anton has been taking care off, and that they’re free, and she’s about to just when--
“Uff-” She’s tackled by a pair of hands, wrapping around her. Another set joins them, and Amber loses balance and almost falls to the ground.
“Amber!”
But then, instead of anticipating the worst, she realizes who that embrace belongs to.
Even though her legs betray her, she doesn’t meet the ground. Instead, keeping her steady, there are her adoptive parents, her uncle and aunt - Henry and Margot Rivers.
“Mom! Dad! You made it!” It is the first time she lets her voice crack, and she doesn’t fight the tears back anymore.
They cry with her, holding her tight for a few long moments.
When they finally pull apart, Margot pulls her back in again. The older woman cries even stronger than her, but Amber hold her tight and comfortingly.
She can see from the corner of her eye her friends, all smiling at her. They are quite surprised from the sudden outburst, but happy for her nonetheless.
“Oh, honey...” Margot pulls away a second time, now cupping Amber’s cheeks in her hands and caresses her.
“We were so worried about you! Our flight got delayed, and we couldn’t reach our phones. We’re so sorry we missed the wedding ceremony...
But when we got here, and we’ve been told you were abducted... Oh, Sweetie-pie... We feared the worst.” She’s a mumbling mess but the tears that are rolling down her eyes aren’t just tears of sorrow, they are also tears of joy and relief that Amber’s safe and sound.
“I already lost Daphne... My simple heart couldn’t bare to lose you too...” Margot adds, more quietly. “I couldn’t disappoint her like that-” She chokes on her next sentence, and just shakes her head. “I have no words to describe how glad I am you’re safe.”
Amber fears she is telling the truth. She never though how much of a strain she was putting on them. Running off to a foreign country, having a scandal around her name, almost being assassinated, several times.
But it was all okay now.
They’ve talked this over, and they assured her they will stand with her, with every decision she’d make.
And they stood by their words.
“My parents might not be here today, but you are my parents nonetheless, and I’m sure mom and dad are glad you’re here today.”
Disappointing them, nonsense. They’ve made a wonderful job. They brought Amber to where she stood today.
A duchess, a queen, a wife.
Margot nodded, embracing Amber one last time before stepping backwards, and realizing she was taking her time.
Amber and Liam still needed to make some kind of a statement, to the public.
Henry briefly hanged around her, before taking a step towards Amber as well.
He had a slightly more difficult time opening up, but he was doing his best and his best wasn’t half bad.
“I won’t waste too much of your time right now, let us find you later when you have more free time and make your rounds, but...
Amber, you make a beautiful bride. And I have no doubt you’re more than worthy to the crown, but... Most of all, you make me so proud. Thank you for letting me be your father.” He talks straight to the point, and Amber almost cries out again.
Damn all those wedding madness that make her so emotional. She wasn’t the toughest tool in the shed to begin with.
Well, maybe when it came to fighting assassins she was, but not in emotional moments.
She hugs Henry quickly, nodding and thanking him as well, promising to see them back soon.
Liam and Amber stand in front of the court.
Amber catches sight of all their friends, and family hanging closely behind them.
Regina, Leo, Kelly and their twins, Jess, Nicole, Alex, Blake and Elena, Hana and Maxwell, Drake and Olivia, Bertrand and Savannah, Heyley and Mark,
Margot and Henry.
Amber’s heart grew a size, beating contently and feeling her chest with a sense of warmness.
She looked at them, and they gave her all the power she needed.
One look at them, and she knew. This was her family.
Maybe not by blood, or not entirely, but... Her family, nonetheless.
She shot a quick look towards Liam, her husband.
He was also her family, and soon they’ll have a family of their own.
She intertwined her hand with Liam’s, giving him a light squeeze. She could see from the corner of her eye him smiling at her.
They took a step forward, together.
“Anton and his allies are in chains. They’re defeated, and no longer stand a treat to the crown, or Cordonia!” She smiles, widely.
Closing her eyes, as everyone around her erupts in cheers and clapping, Amber thanks a couple of people that can’t be there with her tonight,
but undoubtedly were with her all along.
Undoubtedly watched over her in her journey and helped her every step of the way, and protected her in her final battle.
Thank you, mom... Thank you... Dad.
Daphne and Edward were, indeed, watching over her.
Liam holds her hand but doesn’t rush her into anything. He waits for Amber until she blinks her eyes open and looks at him.
She’s beaming.
Liam seems glad, relieved, as he puts his hand on the small of her back, pulling her closer.
“Ready to join the party?” He asks, planting a soft kiss to her cheek.
