The Alma Negra Sets kick off was too much fun!! Many thanks to Falani Afrika for the vision in making it all happen for Maestrina Da Favela. The whole crew of the event was full of beautiful young ladies and I loved working and with them. So excited for the film!! Alma Negra sets is a series that will happening all summer long! Traveling to Thailand has inspired the next 2322 collection for SS17 “Girl on the Go”. This collection is all about fun pops of color and pieces to elevate the simple on the go look! From brunch, girls night out, to running errands and traveling the world these pieces are for those who like to stand out in the midst of a busy (and sometimes hectic) lifestyle.
The colors for me were very important. While in south east Asia the natural landscapes, elements and plant life truly elevated my love for color. Everything was naturally beautiful and full of color. The fruit, The pay phones, the Buddha’s all around the country side, the water, the shore, even the packaging on the snacks in the convenient store were full of color. Along with the color there was an interesting dynamic in how people kept cool and protected themselves from the sun. Breathable and light materials were ever present by the natives.
A few months back I got a generous influx of beautifully colored yarn from a Free People store closing (gotta stay hip to where to find reusables as an entrepreneur, store closings are a great place to look) but didn’t quite figure out what I wanted to do with it yet. Upon returning home I thought and drew out a few ideas and of course took plenty of pictures along my journey. In a few short weeks I would produce “Girl on the Go.”

This just in! Catch the performance of “Never Be” in London.
And as divine intervention and the universe would have it I’ve created a winter collection for 2322! In my stay in Paris I throughly influenced by the style and vibe of the city. I couldn’t help but notice the outstanding subtly. From the apartments, to the historic buildings, to of course the fashion! It wasn’t about how many items or even intriguing ways to wear items but more about cuts, linear movement, textures, shades and quality making. I was inspired to say the least and from that I’ve created a small collection of chokers called “Les Marais.” The name is the name of the neighborhood where I stayed that inspired the collection. Join me on December 16th-20th for an online trunk show where these pieces will be available exclusively through my website.

My best friend of 15 plus years is one of the most awesome people I’m blessed to have in my life. We traveled to paris after london to celebrate her birthday. If there’s anyone who deserves a celebration parisian style its her! I love her to the moon and back again. So glad we got to add this to our golden girls scrap book lol.
