to be fair, the “a” is missing in the “earl” part so it’s an easy miss!! in actuality though, i stole this name completely from my all-time favorite specialty earl grey tea from a local store:

they’re a nerdy hang-out/board game store/cat shelter/tea shop, aka heaven, and all of their blends have nerd themes (i also drink “bad wolf tea” which is just black tea and rose!). earl grey is my favorite basic tea flavor and i used to love bbc sherlock (yes, i recognize there’s some problematic writing and characters, but i’ve got my personal sentimental attachments) so i had to try it and fell in love with it ☕💗🥰

neither of these words are my name! (and sherlie/shirley/etc makes me laugh because i picture bbc sherlock when i hear it LOL) in a very feeble attempt to remain anonymous i haven’t put my name anywhere public, though if an irl finds me this tea screenshot is probably an instant identifier anyways so that’s awkward 😂

46. what’s the last thing a friend recommended to you that you looked into and actually liked?

i'm pretty sure this has never happened to me, except... maybe occasionally with music? i am a pain in the ass who has to feel like they're discovering things on their own, though, despite the fact that everything they interact with is basically algorithmically curated to appeal to them and—i sound like such an asshole, wow.

47. do you like to go on walks?

it's, like, my second favorite thing after sitting down and doing absolutely nothing! (no, but seriously. yes, i do. they help me feel more like a human being and less like sludge, so i take them as often as possible.)

48. do you have a favorite plate or bowl?

yes, and since i'm not at home, i can't take a picture, which is a shame!!!! bc i love it!! it's a handmade bowl from some art fair my mom went to a few years ago and it's white with this blobby black glaze that i love so much, even though it once made a friend of mine gag on sight. i had to move my pasta to another dish because she couldn't look at it. powerful pottery.

49. what’s your favorite thing to do when it’s raining?

i like to go out on my back porch overlooking the muddy canal and cloudy sky and smoke a cigarette while listening to intensely broody music and staring at the rain. and then i usually take a walk around town with my headphones on and get absolutely soaked. that or write.

I have literally nooo advice to give because it's a fucked situation, but please just rest assured that your feelings about this are, like, completely understandable?? and you don't need to feel guilty or whatever about having them.

fucking scream shout, write curse words in your diary, whatever. keep up the long walks and keep writing fic. just know that people notice u and care about u and your existence in this world is a blessing even when others are making your life harder. love ya. x

Thank you for your support. Honestly. I'll try to keep the fics going despite AO3 under the threat of being blocked (I honestly still can't comprehend how our government found their way on the American fanfiction website, and I can't stand that they declared wars on VPNs, the censorship is thriving full time). It's just it really kinda shook me, maybe to some it'll sound silly, but DW fandom and fics in particular have been keeping me afloat since 2020.
