Ok but why does everyone assume Elizabeth never left that island? She's not even ON that island at the end of AWE and it's never implied that she stays there for 10 years. The Pearl is waiting after she has her last day with Will. Why does everybody just automatically assume she stayed on that island? Why is that the "official" fandom viewpoint? The whole "how did she get a fancy new dress if she's stuck on the island" is the weakest argument I've ever heard.
oh but i agree with you! it’s simply impossible that elizabeth stayed alone on a deserted island for 10+ years, it doesn’t make sense! “how did she get a fancy new dress if she’s stuck on the island” the problem here is that it’s badly formulated! (but i totally agree with you and i have always overlooked the flaw in that argument, even if i’m very well aware, bc unlike other people i don’t think it’s the same island she stayed in)
okay so yess elizabeth had to leave that island eventually, but the thing is, she stayed inland. people just assume that she stayed on the same island, but the thing is, it doesn’t even matter! it doesn’t matter if she moved to another island or stayed on the same (if it was even populated) the problem here is that she’s not on sea!
anyway back to the point, people assuming she never left and thus not being able to get a dress are absolutely wrong, the problem is not about the logistics but about money and status! BUT also i don’t think the pearl picked her up AT ALL i mean she said her goodbyes to everyone at the end of the movie, jack included, and then we see jack on tortuga and elizabeth is not mentioned anywhere and the next thing barbossa has stolen the ship so… i mean she got off that island by her own means, or maybe by her own ship (and what pisses our side of the fandom off is that disney never bothered to clarify that point! they could have shown her ship in the horizon and everything would be fine! but disney wanted to tell us purposefully that she waited)
