At first, Chloe had cringed internally at Max’s gentle words. She’d prepared herself for the seemingly inevitable Red Light that always came once they’d shed their shirts. There had been a couple of times where Chloe, in her one-and-a-half-year of celibacy, had gotten her hopes up; even going as far as to undo Max’s bra on one occasion. But, as with every other time, they’d been stopped. The time with the bra had been Max’s parents’ returning from the store that had put a halt to their exchange, but most often it was Max stopping them; saying she either wasn’t ready yet, or didn’t think it was the right time.
And Chloe respected that. She’d wait forever so long as Max was comfortable with it. It was the least she deserved, after all. But when they got so far and were stopped at the very, very last second… It was getting a little frustrating to say the least.
When Chloe gently moved her lips from the brunette’s neck with a small, almost wet popping noise, her brow furrowed in concern, and her hand (that had previously been starting a collision course to her girlfriend’s waist) halted immediately. “… What’s up, Max…?” Chloe muttered, voice coming out almost breathless and thick with a mix of lust and desire, yet barely more than a whisper at the same time. “Y’wanna st—“
“we- we have the house to ourselves today, so maybe… we don’t have to stop this time. i mean if- if you don’t want to.”
Chloe froze. Her blue eyes (which had previously been filled with lust) widened and lightened in shock, and her heart started to pound within her chest, causing a sudden rush of blood to her head, and thus a blush across her usually pale features. Her hand (the one that had previously been aiming for Max’s waist), tentatively skittered its way up and out of the covers, with slender fingers moving to push brunette locks out of her girlfriend’s eyes.
“.. Max… Max, are you saying you want to go… further…?” The punk tenderly asked, both sets of blue eyes locking with one another, with an intensity that left nothing to be desired in the way of honesty and seriousness. “… Because if you’re doing this for my sake, you don’t have to… Okay…? I want to, but… I want you to be ready, Max… I don’t mind waiting…”
" i’m sorry, i know you’re still sleepy. ” slender hand runs through her daughter’s long, dark locks, apologetic smile on her lips as she watches violet’s drowsy figure leaning against her leg. “we’ll be back with groceries before you know it.” paige fumbles inside her bag for a moment in an attempt to find her keys ( did she leave them inside? had violet gotten a hold of them and then threw them aside for a more interesting toy? ). a series of scenarios run through her head, and she’s so lost in thought she almost doesn’t notice the sound of footsteps quite near to her. the two hadn’t moved into the building that long ago, so it wasn’t as if she knew any of the neighbors either.
“ found them! ” the victorious remark is meant for their ears alone, or so she believes.
if not for the sound of a familiar voice, saying something that sounded so much like her name, perhaps she wouldn’t have turned around to face him. perhaps she shouldn’t have, paige now believes once she realizes exactly who is right across the hall from her.

what’s that saying about distance making the heart grow fonder? rhys’ brain dredges up the quote and he stifles a scowl as the accuracy of it burns through him, face to face with fiona for the first time in MONTHS, and finds that he... he’s kind of missed the way she talks shit like a second language and looks at him like she’s just stepped in skag shit. but she’s on his terf now, atlas property, and she looks EXTREMELY uncomfortable. good.
silvery metal arm waves off the security guards keeping her at bay by the entrance, MISTER CEO blessing the peons with his presence or whatever bullshit she might spew at him when their eyes meet. fiona looks, well, good. the thrill of the hunt adds a healthy glow to her skin, gold and brown eyes roaming her body from down the bridge of his nose before rhys BEAMS at her. yeah. he really did miss her.
‘for god’s sake, wipe off those SMUDGES and dirt off your face. some poor bloke is going to think he’s spilled his coffee all over his paper.’ giving a frown, she didn’t bother looking him in the face, ducking behind the BOXY camera she had painstakingly set up. why was it that all of these boys couldn’t pull a smile that didn’t look like they were up to something? she’d had to pull every trick she could to get an EARNEST looking one.
“Oh my god, my toes feel like they’re about to fall off.” from rachel!

Chloe’s hand were tucked firmly into the pockets of her jacket, well, her dad’s jacket that she kept a hold of after he died. She only ever used it whenever it was extremely cold outside and since there were almost 7 inches of snow covering the grounds of Arcadia Bay, the weather merited the punk wearing her dad’s jacket.
This was possibly the worst winter they had had in Arcadia Bay in a long time, possibly since before Chloe was even born. She was walking along the sidewalk beside Rachel when she heard what the blonde had piped up to say. She swivelled her head around so that she could look at the smaller blonde as they walked. “That’s why I’m wearing 3 pairs of socks…” The blue haired punk admitted with a cheeky grin spreading across her features. “I’m sorry we have to walk, but because of the weather, I couldn’t get the old rust bucket started, I think the engine has seized up…” She explained, her eyebrows coming towards the middle of her forehead to knit into a frown.
“Just think about how awesome and worth it the walk will be once we get to the Two Whales? You’ll be chowin’ down on whatever takes your fancy before you know it!” She explained, her tone of voice sounding a little more cheerful than she actually was. She was actually just as cold as Rachel was but she was determined to keep a positive attitude about her.
it had been quite some time since she last visited their secret spot. her last news assignment required extensive reseach and coverage, rendering amy overseas for a few weeks. she didn’t mind, though, ever the wanderlust but she’d be lying if she said she didn’t miss HOME. she held good memories of it.
her childhood, fortunate enough to grow in a home with loving parents and a sister she considered her best friend. her high school years, where she first discovered her love of journalism, writing for the school paper. local college, small but prestigious enough to give amy the teachings she needed to become a reporter the same place where she had met HER. amy had always been quick to fall in love, but no one had stuck with her quite like rosella did.
perhaps that was why she kept coming back to that place, shamelessly basking in old memories that she held fondly.
seeing the fort still standing still, despite the wear of time, was comforting. like a safety blanket she knew she could always reach for whenever she was home. what amy didn’t expect, however, was to find someone else in the fort. the strange attire only served as more reason for shock, stopping the young reporter in her tracks as she gave the other a long look.
